Very dark red buds open to deep red flowers with rose highlights. The plumes are narrow and upright. The bronze-red foliage turns mid-green in summer. This is a good spiky selection to add interest to the garden. Despite all the books, plant this one in full sun or you will be disappointed. Shade is not this guy's friend. It's hard to find a true red but his one definitely is red.
