Aconitum napellus (Monkshood)

Thumbnail Photo

Dark glossy foliage and dark blue flowers are striking additions to Alaskan gardens. Related to our native monkshood is a good indication of the hardiness and ease of growing. Tall plants are hard to find but this 4 footer will fit that requirement. There are many hybrids including bi-color that also do well for us. Combine with candelabra primula, delphinium (related), thalictrum.
