Here is a very hardy variety, with profuse blooming deep purple flowers. Clematis 'Jackmanii' grows 8-12 feet, with 5- to 6-inch flowers. Very popular!

Pruning guide: Lightly prune in late winter or early spring, removing dead or weak stems and shaping. Old favorite for Alaskans. Very easy to grow.
