Plum-colored petals and darker stamens grab your eye wherever they bloom in your gardens. So many other perennials are complimented by this great lily. Grow on dry side to avoid bulb rot. Push a couple of sticks of chalk in beside the bulbs each spring for a "timed-release" feed. Removing the orange center pistils will add bloom time.
