A new grass for us to try. Several Alaskan gardeners have had good experience with luzula but since it is a bit unproven on a wide scale, we've put them in smaller pots and priced accordingly. Wide, bright green leaves with creamy white flowers 6? above the foliage. 'Lucius' originally came from Alpine Europe. It flowers in the spring and early summer with a cloud of small, fluffy blooms that do resemble fallen snow. It flourishes in damp, shady conditions that so many true grasses dislike.

Perfect for containers. In the garden I put this one in a big pot and bury it to keep the grass from spreading more than I want. The strawberry and cream look of the foliage is totally great.
